Paint For Peace

After the last contest and reading all the amazing entries I received I feel like my heart has ballooned in my chest. I want to send each of you a personal thank-you card. If you want one (and you know you do) you can send me your mailing address to rebekah(dot)plett AT gmail.com.

Last year, around this time, I teamed up with the wonderful folks from Love & Peace International to take part in their Paint For Peace annual fundraiser. The long of the short of it is MORE PAINTINGS! Here is what I did last year:

I was so glad it sold (I stood there with my husband saying, "It's not going to sell. No one's going to buy it. Right? Am I right? It's going to sell, right? I'm going to be the only person in here whose painting doesn't sell. They are going to give it back to me and shake their heads. My life is ending - ").

Being so pleased (I can hardly stand myself) with all of your entries for my last contest, I decided to take another entry from the Painting Contest and use it for my Paint For Peace work. I would like to thank Elizabeth for allowing me to use her inspiring choice of words for this event : girl
, piano,
curly brown hair,
magenta,
starlight,
procession,
waves.

It's going to be a busy next few weeks so I will post as often as possible on these two paintings (Paint For Peace and also the SOS Children's Villages painting).

You All Have My Love, Don't You Know?,

Will you do prints of this Peace painting?

I would love to try. However, since I will be finishing the painting there and the setting is less than ideal for photographing the work it will be hard to get a good image of it. I will try my best.

Hi Rebedkah, I like your site and I think your black and white drawings are especially cute. Found you on that post about blogs on linkedin.

How exciting! Now we can watch two paintings evolve from seeds.
